L'homme qui aimait les femmes

Jacques-Henri LARTIGUE (13 juin 1894 – 12 septembre 1986) était un photographe et peintre français. Une exposition lui rend hommage, s'attachant à ses peintures moins connus que ses photos. Cette photo ci-dessus est une de mes préférées, car en découle une troublante histoire : il s'agit d'une photo de son épouse lors de vacances, alors qu'ils étaient très amoureux. L'année suivante il l'a peinte, mais après leur divorce, il a retouché le tableau en la faisant disparaître, laissant tout le reste.

Jacques-Henri LARTIGUE (June 13, 1894 – September 12, 1986) was a French photographer and painter. He was obsessed with women, his wife, his lover. There's an exhibition going about his paintings, less famous but very much inspired by his photographs. The first one above is a favorite of mine. There's a strange story about that photograph : he took that photograph of his wife on vacation the year they were very much in love, then painted it - but when they got divorced - he removed her from the painting, leaving alone the table and the window.
